ME $ IEEE - By Gaurav Dahiya

Hi people!!!

Today I attended my first IEEE General Body Meeting(I don't recall one taking place last year). It made me think back on my time in IEEE and I would like to share my observations with all of you.

It was the start of my 3rd sem. I had known about IEEE in my 1st year, but I had not bothered to join. What's in there for me?? I had thought. Only the fact that there would be something in my resume besides studies made me join IEEE. I couldn't have made a better decision.

IEEE is more than just a club for me. IEEE is like a brotherhood- a place you can call your own. It has given me the chance to interact and work with so many different students form so many different branches and years. It provides me with a platform, to go out there and challenge myself( my thoughts stray to the skit that i participated in NSIT Quarterly Meet...I had never acted before).

Some words for those who have just joined IEEE. Karandeep sir, Rishabh sir, Rashnil sir and Dhruv sir are probably the best leaders IEEE-ASET has had in years( honestly). Jitna faydaa uthaa sakte ho utha lo. Rasnil sir to mast hain. Ask him anything and he will just smile and solve your problem. Karandeep sir is just a little too inspiring sometimes :) , but he is the best leader that IEEE could have.Seriously, IEEE ASET will be losing something dear this year.

I remember being averse to paying such a huge amount for IEEE membership and thinking...damn, this is a waste. How can I be a more wrong. IEEE has provided me fond memories without which my college life wouldn't have been complete. It has instilled in me a sense of achievement, leadership and belonging.

I am Gaurav Dahiya. I am an IEEE member.
