Exchange board meet held at NSIT - by Nakul Jain

Hey people

I along with Vaibhav Narula(ECE 3rd Year) went for the exchange board meet held at NSIT. This was an initiative by IEEE-NSIT to make IEEE-DELHI more interactive. The foremost agenda of the meet was to publicize events and workshops and all the work we engage ourselves into at our respective college branches, to all the other participating colleges. It was a good exposure and a definite learning experience.

We addressed the board members of NSIT along with the representatives from IGIT. We first of all talked about the different activities being carried out at ASET. We told them about the various events and workshops that have taken place through the session. Then we publicized the individual events that we plan to conduct at EQUINOX. We invited for an active participation from both the colleges. Further we also showed our keen interest in having mutual participations in each others events and workshops.

There was also eagerness to have such meets more frequently.

Next we plan to give them a detailed presentation regarding the events at the EQUINOX with an intention to draw maximum participation. The same could be mailed to various colleges along with the posters.

Some of the ideas and observations from NSIT that I found worth sharing-
> An industrial visit-it sure gives a lot of exposure and is a huge learning experience
> An interactive session with some of our seniors wherein they share their experience during placements and we put forward our anxieties.
> Those people seemed eager to attend our workshops if we give them a proper explanatory rundown of what the workshop is all about, how is it beneficial and what exactly its got in store for them.
> We can propose for a joint workshop where we demonstrate the best 5 in-house projects from both the colleges to the 2nd year students from both the colleges. Or if we have enthusiasm from other colleges too, we can have a workshop on best projects from all the participating colleges.

Some of the ideas relating various events that I recently came up with-

> A technical cartoon making competition( TECHTOON) .
> We can have a programming competition wherein we provide the participants with a problem and everyone is suppose to solve the same. The one with the best code(parameters can be decided) wins.
> As microcontroller is a big craze we can have an event relating to it. We can think of something.
> We can have a technical article writing competition. This way we collect the articles for the magazine too.

I would request all of you to please give me feedback and add ons on these ideas and also come up with new ones especially as we approach EQUINOX.
